blakjak70 Posted February 8, 2011 Share Posted February 8, 2011 Hi everyone. I've played FO3 and FO:NV on the XBox and am about to take the plunge and get it for the PC. I'm considering on buying it off of Steam as it seems both it and the retail version are identical. I'm really interested in how the game can be modded on the PC version, however I have no idea where to start, sort of. I've done searches on the forum and seen that I should get FOMM and NVSE, but after that I'm a bit clueless. I tried searching on both the forum and Google for a list of recommended mods. I found some external links with an editors idea of what is essential but can't seem to find anything from a community that plays the game regularly. Does anyone know of or have a list of recommended mods to start with? Do you think the Top Lists in the Files section are a good place to start or should I be looking for specific mods? I'm sorry if this has been discussed before and for starting a new thread if it has. I've been doing searches on the forum for the past couple of days and seem to come up empty handed. kingtitan Posted February 9, 2011 Share Posted February 9, 2011 What kind of mods are you looking for? If you can be a little more specific with what you want I'm sure we can help you. And yes get FOMM and NVSE as your first mods. They will make your life that much easier later on when mods require one or both. No but but seriously, my favourite starting mods are probably: -Lucky 38 marker: Adds a map marker to the lucky 38. VERY useful if you don't want to walk your ass through freeside everytime you want to complete a mr.house quest. -Purge cell buffers: Improved performance no end for me. Almost eradicated crashes. -Western Sky: Makes the sky varied and epic. The BEST one is one that changes the landscape lod so everything looks better when distant.
