Not sure how it happened but my female character is refered to as a male

Short history :

I decided to play a fem elf mage ,things started smouth enough I chose the mage class, and elf race and started playing but I realised something was up when the first enchanter refered to my character as a him and then new brother.

I talked to Culen but it was all standard dialog.

I deselected all the mods when I made the new character, and haven't activated them yet.

Any body have any ideas as to what happened ?

I think it might becouse of Chargen Package v1-110

ok had a quick look and from what you're saying it looks pretty much like nothing could be doing this however there is definitely a mod conflict. I had this problem some time ago (with Alistair treating my male character as female lol).

You have certain dialogue changing mods on ie ZDF Complete, Riorden, Alistair Dialogue Patch. Have you made sure these are compatible with each other. by that I mean that there are not two alistair_main.dlb files etc trying to override each other.

Where the cosmetics are concerned you have made sure that there is only one chargenmorph.xml file? You would notice quite quickly if there was more than one as you would be unable to create characters properly ie no hairstyles other than the normal etc.

To my mind it is a dialogue error that is doing this. You have Witch Hunt and Golems unchecked I take it as these can also interfere with the main games ie Origins and Awakening.

Sorry to ask more questions but like I said to me it is a dialogue error more than a cosmetics one.

Hope this helps, let me have the new info and we can go from there

Naomi

I tryed deselecting all mods and starting a new game, fem city elf,but I still got amle response dialog. ..your bride is.....

So it has to be one of these mods or a combination of these mods.

Ok take off the quest mods including Enigma and I mean take them off completely. Try the game again. If this doesn't fix it then go through and take each mod off one by one until you hit the culprit, I would not touch the cosmetic mods take them off sequentially ie Quests and locations first, armor and weapons next, utility or game changes next and lastly dialogue changes. You'll find the culprit in one of them as soon as you get the correct response you'll know which mod is responsible. Let me know and I'll see if there is a fix.

Hope this helps but the only way to sort this is to do it one at a time and not just uncheck but remove completely. I think you'll find its a quest mod tho as a couple of them change the dialogue too.

Thanks for the update. Your experience adds to the body of knowledge supporting the notion that "mysterious bugs that suddenly appear" are due to mods.

Removing them all, then re-installing in batches to isolate the problem child is the best way I know to fix it.

I remember having a few compatibility issues with Shadows Over Telia, so it MIGHT be that. Despite being a standalone module, it does seem to have some effect on the main game.

One thing I would suggest that MIGHT work to correct the confused gender issue is to use the console to remind the game of what your character is.

I had a rather odd issue where the game assumed I was a Human Noble rather than a Dwarf Noble, but using the console to tell the game my character was, in fact, a Dwarf Noble ended the problem. The gender confusion is not identical, of course, but it is analogous.
