Nifskope texture weirdness

So I've just got into fallout modding and I have dived in headfirst. I made some minor edits to an armor mod I had installed (mesh and texture) and the textures go haywyre in nifscope when I try to use them on my modified mesh when i export it in certain nif versions. The issue only happens when I export in 20.2.0.7 (see picture http://imgur.com/sHXMe19) which is what the unmodified nif version was (which works correctly with the texture changes I made). If i however export from blender in the oblivion setting the modified mesh opens in nifskope with my modified textures correctly but i then cannot paste the branch onto the original mod armor. I know this was quite words and i may not have explained the issue all too well because well..it's a confusing issue. Please see the image for what happens. I've not seen any videos on how to make armor either so I'm going off written tutorials which can be somewhat harder.
