superemage
I am trying to merge my textures folder with that of a mod that requires me to do so, but the problem is the textures folder for new vegas is a .bsa file while the textures folder for the mod is not. How do you over come this obstacle, help is appreciated Thanks
WastelandAssassin
you don't need tobasically, when the game calls for items that aren't found in the folders, it takes it from the BSA archivesfor instance, if you have an armor that comes from a mod, the game will find it in the meshes folderhowever, if the armor came from the original game, it wouldn't be in the meshes folder, so the game will find it in the meshes BSA archive so all in all, when you do have folders, merge themif you don't have them, than just place them in the correct placeit would work just fine

I'm just a player not a modder I can barely use GECK
superemage
ok I have a custom textures folder and a custom meshes folder, I am supposed to merge them with the games texture/meshes folder which are non existent or at least are a BSA file which when you paste the mod folders into the DATA folder nothing is merged or overwritten. Quetzlsacatanango
Drop the textures, meshes, etc.. folder into your new vegas\data folder. If it asks to overwrite, say yes. If not, do nothing.Enable your esp, if any. Play.
WastelandAssassin
my point is that the game itself does not come with folders, it comes with BSA archivesmods add folders (like meshes, textures etc)when you are told to merge the folders in the mod's installation instructions, it is assuming that you already have other mods installed, and so have these folders already you don't need to create anything newthe mod comes with folders, just put them into your data folderwhen next you'll do this (meaning with the next mod), you'll be asked to merge the folders, because you can't have two folders with the same namewhen asked to do this, say yes, and that is all if a mod tells you to overwrite files when asked, it doesn't mean that it has to do so (because you may not need to), but if you are asked, say yesit's the same concept with merging foldersi hope this is simple enough to understand
