Random missing meshes

Recommended Posts

K so for whatever retarded reason I can't upload the screenshots, here or on facebook, so when I figure that out I can make myself much clearer, til then, whatever.

What's happening...I changed a few mods out, then turned all of my mods into fomods to simplify everything, uninstalled to start with a clean install, set everything up, tweaked my guns, grenades, etc, and started...

Everyone in goodsprings is surrounded by one of the giant 'missing mesh' exclamation points. Every vanilla character, except the doc.

All of my mods involve the hud, the replacement/addition/tweaking of weapons and gear, and the addition/management of a zombie horde. Nothing that touches npc meshes.

I'm in the midst of turning my mods off and on to see if I can find the culprit, anyone else had this problem?

I'm having the same problem. Sometimes I try to pull up my pipboy readius and an missing texture red mark comes up. Randomly my companions will be surrounded by them and when this happens I can't hit pause or anything. Just walk around and shoot. Can't talk or open things either. I've been trying to figure out what the problem is but I have no idea.

The game can't load meshes properly if you have too many mods installed at once. Go through your mods and deactivate the non-essential ones. It sucks, but that's all you can do.

You're right, I tested this out and now finally my meshes and textures are loading again as they should.

I was running at 168x mods, and I disabled/removed about 38x of them and running at 130x mods now and seems stable at last.

Thank you for the advice, I am not sure why I did not think of this, but now I know.

I'll give you kudos just for this advice

Thanks for the kudos! I just learned this a couple days ago myself. I used to think the missing meshes were the result of a conflict and would spend hours with FNVEdit making merged patches, changing my load order, deactivating individual mods, etc. More modders definitely need to be aware of the consequences of too many plugins.
