Say ...My Character has 10 Luck right ?

so if I take a perk like Finesse for example

does it still have any effect ?

and if it doesnt can you recommend me on some Luck adding perks ?

Each point of Luck = 1% Critical Chance (CC), Finesses equals 5%, so with 10 Luck an d Finesse you get 15% critical chance. Energy weapons perks/challenges give the most bumps in CC, there are two ranks of "set lasers for fun", each giving you 2% CC and the Laser Commander" perk which gives you an astounding 10% bump in CC for laser weapons. You can also wear Boone's Beret for another 5%.

So if you're into energy weapons, you can get up to 34% CC using laser weapons, which you'll need because they do so little damage. You can further increase total CC by using Pew Pew which has a 2.5 CC multiplier meaning you would have a 66% chance of scoring a critical hit every shot! Along with it's 75 damage makes this weapon second only to the Alien Blaster in DAM/CC. There are many other energy weapons have provide a good critical multiplier.

Sorry if this is TMI, but just want to show you that to get a really high CC, you need to use energy weapons. Using only guns, the best you can get is 30% (excluding Ratslayer)

Awesome man thx

but I saw in the FONV Vault that Ratslayer has a 90% Crit chance ....so isnt 10 Luck with Ratslayer= Always Crit ?

Weapons don't' have a Critical Chance, they have a critical chance multiplier. Ratslayer's is 5x. So, if you character's CC is at least 20% then yes, you'd always score a critical hit. But Ratslayer is a Varmit Rifle, not exactly what you'd chose to hunt mutants or cazadore's with, even with a 100% CC because the critical damage is so low. They game is well balanced in this regard.

what energy weapons have high crit multi ?

Pew Pew is the best laser pistol in the game for critical hits. The plasma rifle, AER prototype, Q35 Matter Modulator, and the Gauss rifle/YCS/186 are all excellent choices for rifles.

I forgot to mention, choose the Built to Destroy Trait at the beginning of the game; this will give you an additional 3% CC. Also, the Better Critical perk will increases the critical damage by 50%.

So, in summary

Built to Destroy trait for 3% CC

Finesse perk for 5% CC

Better Criticals for 50% critical damage bonus

Laser Commander for 10% CC w/ laser weapons

Set Lasers for Fun for 2/4% CC with energy weapons

Boone's Beret for 5% CC

10 luck for 10%

Total: 37% CC with laser weapons. If you are using Pew Pew, multiply that amount by 2.5 to get 92.5% total CC. If you choose the AER Prototype, then your total CC is 74%. Those are the only two weapons I carry, and I turn most enemies into ash with one strike!

Don't underestimate the Ratslayer. For a stealth character at range with the night vision scope and the silencer, maxxed guns, and always critting, it can be a very potent weapon. Even if it takes more than one shot it doesn't matter because they never see you anyway.
