MoonCat
Is it at all possible to use the items from another BSA file in Oblivion? I'd like to re-create a building from Fallout: NV for personal use, but I can't seem to find any information on how I would go about this. If I can't use the same items as they were, how would I extract the meshes and all that from the BSA? For the record, I don't intend to distribute this if I can get it working. WastelandAssassin
you can extract items from a BSA using FOMM or BSA Commanderso you can use the resources inside there, in any way you like, that isn't breaking the law (so as long as you own copies of the games, and do it all for your personal use, i think it's ok) as for using a building, you will probably have to recreate the building, as it usually comes as resources, not as a fully made model (at least as far as i know)
MoonCat
Will I have to create new collision models or anything of that nature, or is that all preserved when extracted?
WastelandAssassin
i think that all the models that already have a collision model, will retain that same collision model, so you won't have to remake iti can't promise or guarantee anything, i'm just saying what i believe to be truethe best way for you is to give it a try, and see what's what
MoonCat
Cool, thanks for the help... just wondering how deep the water is, now that I've flung myself into it.
WastelandAssassin
that depends on which pool you just jumped in  are you talking about modding in general, or about converting New Vegas into Oblivion??because modding in general isn't easy, but it's also not too hard, if you can give it the time and effort you need to learn and experimentas for converting a game into another, it's much harder, as there are much less options, so you can't really experimentalso, this is something that most people won't be able to help you with (all of this is just my opinion, so i may be totally wrong here)
MoonCat
I'm not trying to convert the whole thing, just use some of the NV assets. I don't want to give myself the kind of headaches that would entail.
