tjallison
Hello. I've just come back to Fallout NV and felt like taking a crack at creating my own armor. Basically I took the Ranger Combat Armor, removed most of the armor, leaving it with just the trenchcoat and the Bandoleer(sp). The idea is to have the trenchcoat go over another set of armor I have, similar to the Tactical Vest mod. I used blender for the alterations, I've used blender before for a simple sword tweak but this was way more difficult. Anyway, after spending all day stumbling through tutorials and finally getting what I wamted I've reached a wall where I don't know what to do. The problem is the mesh and textures look perfectly fine in Nifskope, but when I preview it in the GECK it looks all spiky and strange. I've tried to look up a solution but I only found one mention and the solution didn't work. Anyone out there who might be able to give me some advice? Here are some screenshots that may help: Blender:]http://www.dumpt.com/img/viewer.php?file=55p1trdyqtnr3tkxs0wa.jpg Import Options:]http://www.dumpt.com/img/viewer.php?file=asqo7dkshdzabms89a7l.jpg Export Options:http://www.dumpt.com/img/viewer.php?file=z2gzz55d0lyczz7q8ji0.jpg Nifskope:http://www.dumpt.com/img/viewer.php?file=8sojj0vhslencg9l7pvk.jpg GECK:http://www.dumpt.com/img/viewer.php?file=8tur8eey6vgm9rw2lklr.jpg With the way it looks I'm thinking a skeleton problem or something to do with the textures. But I know nothing about Skeletons and I don't see why the textures wouldn't work since they're original to the mesh. Any help would be appreciated :). tjallison
Nevermind, fixed it. Had some steps in NifSkope I wasn't aware of that I had to do. For future reference they were: Face NormalsSmooth Normals, use the default options.Make Skin Partition, with default options.Update Tangent Space. All on the custom mesh in NifSkope
