So what happens

What happens in a Blight? Darkspawn dig up one of the old gods of the Tevinter Imperium, it gets corrupted by the Taint, and assembles all the Darkspawn around into a massive army to overrun civilization. So what will happen when the last of the dragon-gods is gone and there aren't any more left for our beloved orcish friends to dig up? Edited by Lehcar

No more blights, unless something else happens...

I think what BKE means is that life will go on as it has when the blights arent active.

Tho if that were to happen, the situation for the wardens would really change. They'd be seen as a weapon that had no more purpose. And I think that a lot of the rulers would want to see them disbanded.

Tho even without the blights, the DS would still be a threat to consider. And one not easily rousted. They're dug in Tight, in the dwarven tunnels, and its take several armies to get them all out.

Tho too, the DS would be in a serious state of confusion, and possibly warring amongst themselves as well. Like was shown when the Architect and The Mother were freeing them from the song. They either divide up and start following the strongest leader, or start striking out randomly.

So with no more "Gods" to hear calling them, their entire racial society might fall apart.

Interesting subject!

Therefore the old god must not be exterminated. They must be preserved and Morrigan is going to make sure that happen. This is where DA:O endings get screwed up. Bioware allow Ultimate Sacrifice and now they admit it's not feasible and realistic to continue the Warden tale.

If you've followed David Gaider and the other writers' conversations about this for the past few years, then you know that "The Dragon Age" was never all about "The Blight". That was just the beginning (hence the double entendre in "Origins".)

The BioWare Team (writers and developers) have repeatedly said that they did NOT want to get stuck having to push-out "The Continuing Adventures of the Warden". It was a conscious decision from before DA:O was released that that DA2 would be a new story altogether.

So no "screw-up". Rather, Expanded Horizons!

That's good. It would suck to be stuck playing some guy whose only purpose is to commit suicide in order to stop the Archdemon...and then waste away on Darkspawn taint. I am very happy new motifs are being explored. There is still so much to Thedas...they have just begun.

Just to throw my twopenneth worth into the mix here, I would like to see a further tale of the Wardens be it one were they go on a crusade to find the lost old gods to either protect or destroy them.

The killing off of the DS would also be interesting considering the fact that the Architect was written about before Origins. Therefore it is feasible that disciples could have escaped the slaughter in Awakening and making a come back as some point. There are ways of killing the AD without the sacrifice we know that so the opportunity to find out the "old" magic to reverse the taint or even protect the wardens from sacrifice would also be a worthy story.

Hopefully BioWare will take this up at some point.
