i don't know about you, but i think Project Nevada is all that you'll ever need (or at least most of what you'll ever need)

i have played Fallout 3 for a huge amount of time, and ever since i got FWE, i never disabled it, because it just made the game

and since Project Nevada is the New Vegas version of FWE, it should be just as good, and from what i've seen, probably even better

i haven't tried it yet, so i can tell which mods it will work with, but i think that every serious player should base their modded game around Project Nevada

Project Nevada is nowhere even close to being finished. So far it's just the FPS-junkie controls and implants, a far cry from FWE at this point.

Whatever annoyed you about the game on your first play-through is what you should look into modding. Beyond that, adding more stuff to the game is usually a fair bet.

well, i didn't try Project Nevada so far, as i have taken a much needed break from New Vegas, but it makes sense that it's far from FWE, as Project Nevada is brand new, and is still being developed

still, it will, in the future, come to the full potential like FWE, and maybe even become better (only time will tell :))

as for the other part of your comment, this is absolutely true

whatever you felt was lacking, you can try and find a mod that fixes

it's not going to make the game perfect, and not all of the small bits can be (or is) fixed, but if you try hard enough, you are likely to find many mods that will fix whatever problems you had with the game

as for adding stuff to the game, this is like a two edged blade

on the one hand, it's fun to have a large variety in the game

but on the other hand, you should make sure to get mods that you will actually use, as the more mods you have, the less stable your game will be

so you need to find the balance between the two, otherwise it may just ruin your experience

i have to say i agree with the other's opinion that u have to figure out yourself what kind of mod u really want since there are that many...

if u ask me i'd add a mod that fiddles with the vividness of the wasteland meaning shaders-stuff like F:NV Enhanced shaders ( perhaps just as an addition since u do have URWL and nevada skies) if u like eye candy and ur rig can handle it u should also check out MGE's work with the electro-city & illuminator mods

-> http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37908 -> Electro-city

-> http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39619 -> Imaginator

-> http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34868 -> F:NV Enhanced Shaders

and maybe u should think about installing NVSE

-> http://nvse.silverlock.org/

thats a bit trickier to install but if u r not a complete numb-nut and unable to read it should work like a charm

NVSE is needed for many mods e.g. the readius pipboy -> http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36646 .. this is not my choice for a pipboy since i dont like the handheld design, i'm using omnis highquality retexture -> http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39859

...and again i could go on and on about other neat/useful or in my humble opinion absolutely necessary mods but then this'd be a rather long reply...

the bottom-line here is: If you dislike any aspect of the game there is a 99% probabilty that you'll find a mod/mods/or a mod-package that alter that particular aspect.

when u find a mod that adresses ur issue and u are unsure which of the many mods suits u best, ur best bet is to go by endorsements that'll narrow the prospect candidates down to a browse-worthy number (files that have three digit endorsements are mostly a safe download and install)... the nexus has a real well made search engine so its just up to u to set up the right searchterms...

and be careful about installation and compatability, since load order can be a beach ;)

side note: be aware that modding ur game can be quite addictive, so when u start fiddling with every tiny weeny detail u'll probably end up not playing the game @ all, coz u'll either break ur install or keep going back to desktop to fiddle with configfiles ;)

(i'm not saying obsidian did a bad work on F:NV, their work is great, its way closer to the original fallout franchise than FO3, its just a pity that bethsoft has a say about when the product shall be released)

thanks for all tips!

I use:

1. A World of Pain; this is what FNV should be - more areas to explore and high level enemies! Can be very challenging, also the loot is great.

2. Increased Spawning - adds more life to the wasteland via NCR patrols, random encounters, and more enemy spawns.

3. More Perks - This author is a genius, he's added very useful,creative and fun perks

4. Perks Every Level - just like FO3

5. Weapon Mods Expanded - Allows you to mod unique weapons, adds MANY different mod options for all weapons, new textures to go along. Very useful and cool.

6. Crafting Material Organizer - Basically cleans up your inventory so you don't have so much to sort through. Everything is organized by use.

7. No Degradation - If your sick of having to make weapon repair kits all the time, you can uses this mod. Although, personally I just buy the kits for m Frankie in the AWoP mod mentioned earlier.

The mods can make a BIG difference in your enjoyment of the game, but fair warning: they can also cause major problems in both game play and appearance because they can conflict w/ each other. So, less is best.

I don't use any aesthetic mods, mainly because my PC can't run them well.
