I wonder, if and when we have Star Trek like replicator devices, will it be copyright infringement if I replicate myself some fake Adidas shoes? :)

In America, even some genetic strains of corn can be copyrighted. Likewise, the "design" for the shoe will essentially become intellectual property.

It already is intellectual property. I couldn't go and sell the exact same shoe design and not get sued.

 

But someone would cry if you could make them yourself and give them to your friends.

But even though that the torrent might be hosted over seas wouldn't it still be illegal if a U.S citizen in the U.S downloads the before mentioned illegal torrent?
