Rivenworlder
A while ago, I got all of Bethesda's official mods (Mehrunes Razor, Frostcrag Spire, etc.) and they all downloaded and installed fine. Then I messed up my Oblivion game and reinstalled the entire thing. Therefore accidentally deleting all of the mod file. I tried to reinstall them, but all that happens is the "Install Shield Wizard" begins to load up and then freezes. This happens with all of them. I now have also gotten the Knights of the Nine mod as well and the same problem occurs without the mod even installing! Please help! I want to play my KotN mod! :(
Guest Tessera
Heh... Bethesda Softworks = good at writing stories, BAD at writing code. You aren't the only one having problems with their mods.
Rivenworlder
That's a little helpful, but does anyone know how to fix it?
Yndifall
You did install the Oblivion version 1.1 didn't you?
Guest Tessera
Good point, Silent Step. Rifleman... have you patched the game..? If so, did you patch it BEFORE installing the mods in question..? If not, then get the official patch from Bethsda, patch the game and then re-install your mods. If none of this helps, then we'd need a lot more info. Rivenworlder
Apologies for not being specific. Yes, I have patched the game, I did so before installing any mods, and the patch is from Bethesda as well.
Guest Tessera
Okay, then this is probably the same registry-related re-install bug that lots of people have had troubles with. I think about 50,000 of you need to get on the phone with Bethesda and scream at them until they issue a fix for that mess. I'm sorry and I wish that I could be of more help to ya, but I've never bought any of Bethesda's "official" mods and now you can see why... LOL. The only thing "official" about them is that they're all just as officially broken as the main game is. I'd call up Bethsoft and yell at them. Somebody should. Maybe they have a fix that I'm not aware of.
Rivenworlder
Unfortunatly, phone tech support for me, due to the time zone, opens 3 hours after I go to school, and closes about 15 minutes after schools out (not enough time to get to a phone). So I'll just have to call on the next holiday. While their closed... Dammit!
