Combat should be this easy?

Okay I started a new game on normal difficulty. I havnt played this since release, but I recall getting WRECKED on normal.

Im currently in the tower at ostagar and roflstomping hurloc alphas solo and coming out with 90% hp.

I have 230 hp, they hit for 1-7 damage. I thought it may be a mod, so i CLEARED my override folder completely. Loaded my game up, saw I was naked from the mod giving me my armor being gone, and had no hair, or back of the skull for that matter, from my vanity mods being gone.

So I confirm all my mods are gone.

And proceed to kill entire groups naked with a greatsword.

Is there some possibility that even with NO files in my overrides that somethings doing this? this isnt even fun.

Can almost guarantee you've got something left from a mod. Anything that installed as a ".dazip" would not be in your "\override" folder, but in your "\addins". It should also be visible on the "Installed Content" screen, where you can disable it. Edited by Thandal

I started a topic about this a week ago, I didn't get one reply.

I too started two games about a year apart, both of them were even dual-wielding rogues. I believe that the patches since then have significantly decreased difficulty by adding not only more potions, but how effective they are. Also, you may have picked up some ridiculously overpowered DLC items along the way, especially if you played Return to Ostragar or Warden's Keep.

also wondering if you created a clean save game after removing your mods. Your stats and everything are still in your savegame and you might be experiencing bleedover, if you didnt create a completely new, clean save.

Hope it clears up. Yeah, that wouldnt be much fun :(

I never had anything to modify my stats in the first place, and i was in ostagar at the time, so I didnt even have anything ridiculously amazing. I right click / uninstalled anything that wasnt official content in the DA Mod Manager.

Yeah. I remember other people that have had this kind of trouble before, and it's REALLY hard to track down sometimes.

Have you tried a new character with everything deactivated? That would at least point to whether it's something that is stuck in the game engine, or if it's something about that particular character that is wrong.

[Edit] I just thought of something. I was rereading your first post, and noticed how little damage you were taking. That right there says that whether the game is telling you that you are or not, your armor rating is still in effect, because it's still soaking damage, rather than You taking the full brunt of it. Armor in this game doesnt make you harder to hit, it reduces the amount of damage that you take when you do get hit. 1-7 points, something is definitely soaking the damage that you're taking.

I don't know. maybe try switching over to a very basic low level set of vanilla armor, save the game, and then reload. And if your character was wearing any boosting jewelry, try changing that out too.

I dunno if that will help any or not, but it's worth a try.

Well, you definitely have SOMETHING from a mod affecting the damage you take (or enemies deliver). Almost everything in the Tower of Ishal should be able to beat a naked PC.

The only thing I use to modify combat is "combat tweaks"

and I took that off, the override and the addin.

I put them back on when I found it wasnt them. I figure this may be easier.

Below are shots of my addins / DA mod manager / and complete overrides folder.

No helmet hack.

That might be your culprit. I used to have a problem with it conflicting with some of my other mods.

And it's almost entirely script driven. Patch 1.03 and patch 1.04 screwed up the way that some of the scripts work. 1.04 "supposedly" reverting them back to pre-1.02 but not really succeeding.

Try an older version of no helmet hack. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1202

Or maybe try the new version, no armor hack. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1202

But first off, I'd try removing it's folders from your override temporarily, just to test it. Cut and paste them to a different location on your harddrive, force load the game, create a new, clean save. load the clean save and see if you still have the problem.

Strange that would be effecting it. I'll try this solution when i get home. I kinda stopped playing because combat was super boring. I guess if it fixes it I can suffer the helms
