CTD with mod running

Well, not NO problems, but no more than usual. :)

OK, so I'm making my first mod. Yay me and all that jazz. Pretty simple one, nothing major, just adding a couple NPC's that give relatively quick and easy quests ('Go here, deliver this, come back'). Only one of them is currently there. I figure I'll get the other two when I've got him finished.

So I managed to get him to talk to the player, the dialogue choices are all there, all that stuff is good. He gives the quest item, and it shows up in inventory. The arrow shows up on the world map showing the player where to go. The "Quest Started: Name of Quest" message flashes across the screen.

And as soon as I try to walk out the door of Moriarty's, or save while inside, I get a CTD. EDIT: Also crashes if I try to wait.

So something I'm doing is wrong, but I'm not sure what.

I figure that it will probably make things easier if I upload the file, and if it's necessary I will. I haven't done so yet because I don't want to be one of 'those guys'. You know the ones I'm talking about....they put a placeholder up (WTF is the point behind that?), or a half-finished mod, then lose interest or get a girlfriend or otherwise never get back to work on the mod. It just drives me a little nuts seeing all these half-finished, not-quite-started, or 'this is just a name' so-called mods on the Nexus. If someone can tell me what to check without me having to put my unfinished mod out there for the world to see, download, and say "WTF tis not done u r teh faggort", I'd be very thankful.

Sorry for my little rant. I'm better now. Promise.

Any help will be appreciated. If uploading ends up being the best way to resolve this, I'll put a link in this topic to the file after I've UL'ed.

Yes, there are scripts. Have to be to get the NPC to give the item, switch between quest stages, etc.

The quest item that I've got so far is a holotape that I just call something else.

I'll try to figure it out more after i get home later but before work.

I'm thinking its a script error, which sucks because as amateurish as I am with the GECK, I'm way better with that than with scripting. Mostly due to the fact that there are a bunch of decent tutorials out there but they are all pretty limited when it comes to scripts. Not much detail, and the only list of scripts I could find doesn't give any more detail than just the name for about 95% of them.
