storminmormon
So, I love Deadly Reflex 6 and think SkyCaptain is pretty much one of the most skilled modders in existence, but the reason I love it is because it revamps the way I fight. Shield bash, dodging, headbutt, punch, *HORSE COMBAT* ((pumps fist)), etc. Beheading, maiming, throat slitting, honestly looks really good - but is there a way to just turn it off? I just don't particularly like it, and for some reason my game just CTD's 1/5 of the time; the combat is advanced enough for me just by making enemies less predictable and putting in the need for more attack combinations. I was looking at DR's INI settings, and I think the best way would be to just turn all the critical-chance probabilities to zero, but then I'll be honest - INI files scare me! I haven't tried it yet, instead I'm asking - is there any wisdom on the subject? ((hopefully things more helpful than my Google goose-chases)) Thank you for reading! P.S. I know it's a hassle to install, but seriously - try DR6, if you haven't! It recreates the game! At least try DR5, it's easy (easier) to install. Just had to throw that plug in there. Smooth613
Simply set all critical chance multipliers to 0 and you should be fine. set skycaptainssb.criticalchance to 35 ;critical chance multiplier in all critical calculations set scc.magiccriticalmult to 0.001 ;additional mult for magic criticals set scc.magicCriticalDamageThreshold to 0.5 ;0-1, percentage, how much damage the attack must cause (of current health) for the critical to be even possible set scc.arrowcriticalmult to 4 ;additional mult for marksman criticals set scc.arrowCriticalDamageThreshold to 0.2 ;0-1, percentage, how much damage the attack must cause (of current health) for the critical to be even possible Set all of the above multipliers to 0 with the exception of the two CriticalDamageThreshold lines. Set those to 1.
