Well I have reached the end Where I have to take out the last of the legions leaders Legate Lanius for the all or nothing quest. I thought this would be a fair boss fight but apparently not. He packs a ton of health and has some body guard back up rushing towards me. My character is lvl 27 so I thought I was ready. Ive tried everything, from powerful laser weapons to high explosive weapons. All failed and even my companions failed, some great securitron huh. There is a more fair way to defeat him which is impossible for me since I dont have speech at 80. He can be talked into fighting one on one which should be a lot easier to manage, there is also a barter option which does nothing. Other than that you can be screwed, oh and dont even try using a Fat man because it just wont work out. I think this could be fixed if Legate was nerfed a bit or more securitrons can come with instead of one. So does anyone have some suggestions and opinions to turn the table? hurrdurrmurrgurr Posted February 17, 2011 Share Posted February 17, 2011 Drop a load of mines on the way up the hill, headshot him with the antimaterial rifle instead of talking to him, blast him with a gauss rifle to knock him down, hop around the rocks so he clumsily runs around them while you pick him off, retreat back to the main camp and backpedal fire on all the guards until it's just you and him, plasma caster spam him or just use Boone. I killed him at level 16 so I don't know if he gains more health at later levels but all of those methods should still make it a cakewalk. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've done beat him with everything from a laser rcw & power armor to the ratslayer & NCR trooper armor. At one point, I just ran around keeping his attention with pot-shots with the Mysterious Magnum while my companions and allies tore him and his bodyguards apart. Easiest time I had was going "unarmed" with a displacer glove. Went through a lot of healing items since I was taking more hits, but he also went down faster than when I shot things at him. If he's really giving you that hard a time, then mines probably are the best way to go. Frags, bottlecaps. Just dump a load of them somewhere he's going to have to walk over and let him blow himself up. If you're sneaky enough, then planting bombs on him might work too. Neariox Posted February 22, 2011 Share Posted February 22, 2011 You realize you can kill him in one shot only being a lvl 20, on normal or harder. I just shot him once in the head with the anti material rifle and he died. This is not a glitch since ive done it on multiple games and beat him as a level ten. Use the automatic rifle if you want to ill him quick. You might not have it though becuase its from the sierra madre. I already have the sierra madre becuase i got it on xbox. Aslo This new DLC is a waste of money and time. Its incredibly stupid and hard. Dont watse your time on the sierra madre. Just mod it for its rare items. SPOILER!!!!! Ozza Posted February 28, 2011 Share Posted February 28, 2011 The mines idea is good.. Just leave a trail of mines to have him follow you through. Sneak up and hit him in the head to lead off, then let him run through some of the mines chasing you. It'll be a few seconds before his 2 aides come down after you so he should be well enough ahead of them so you can make sure it's him who takes the hits.By then his legs are probably wounded enough to slow him down well enough for you to stay away from him. The second time, I picked off everyone in the camp before I even went near the guy, staying outside the gate. Then I let him have it with a missile launcher before he could force greet me.
