TheTuna
Hey all,I'm currently working on my first mod (a small one for the BoS Outcast dialogue) which aims primarily to provide me with some experience for a custom companion mod for FONV I'm planning. The mod changes the dialogue the Outcasts use with the player to that they use with their own faction after the player gets their trust in The Outcast Collection Agent. Now, I've successfully changed both Outcast interfaction responses to include the player, as well as getting them to stop the harsh greetings. However, I wanted to add the "Glad you're holding up all right" and "Watch your back and keep your batteries charged" greetings in the Conversations tab to Topics as well, to increase the greeting variety. I copied them and moved the copies to Topics, where I set them as random and had the final one as the Random End; I also ensured they were fully correct with conditions. However, I can still only get the two positive responses that were initially under Topics to play. Am I doing something wrong, is there a missing step, or can porting lines used in Conversations just not be done? I can provide screenshots if needed, just ask. Any help would be great, thanks! :) Edited February 16, 2011 by TheTuna
rickerhk
When you copy a topic, it creates a new formID and therefore the sound filename and path it expects to see is different. So if you turn on subtitles, you should be able to see the conversation infos. You can extract the original sound and lip files from the BSA. Then you copy them to the location that the new info is expecting to find them. Then you rename them to what the info expects the filename to be. You don't get a choice in what the path and file name will be.
