Roleplaying as a merchant!

I don't know why it's coming out all random colored. I apologize.

i'm starting a new playthrough and i'll be playing as an Imperial traveling merchant! I am playing on pc and have knowledge in installing mods.

My main mods installed for enhancing the playthrough are:

Frostfall Ineed (Not a fan of the complexity of RN) Trade Routes (for the economy overhaul) Realistic Rooms Enhanced (for realistic Inn pricing) Perkus Maximus (for the perk overhaul)

other minor mods include: Realistic carry weight different weather mods back pack mods etc.

Although if you can think of other mods to enhance the gameplay feel free to suggest!

Now what i'm looking for are non-mod ways to enhance this gameplay! Different things you as a player can do! I don't plan on fast traveling at all, unless by boat or carriage which would be rarely or on special occasions. All of my eating, drinking, sleeping will be covered by the needs mod, as well as camping and environmental survival. So if you can think of ways to enhance this please let me know!

As far as the character goes here's what I have.

I'm working on his backstory currently. So far I know he will be an Imperial male from Anvil, Cyrodiil. He is in his late forties, possibly forty-five to forty-eight. What I haven't decided on is if he will have any combat experience (possibly retired legionaire, city guard, etc) or to have him be inexperienced and rely on a bodyguard or hired mercenary. He will be very educated, and a shrewd diplomat and salesman. He knows his merchandise very well. He traveled the land very much in Cyrodiil.

Anyways, if you can think of anything to help with it would be very much appreciated!

For some reason your post makes my eyes bleed.

I was going to suggest at least one of the traveling caravan homes but since you want non mod related ideas... I can't really think of anything. You really need mods to do things like set up a proper storefront or have your caravan mercenaries demand a fair pay, don't even get me started on better item integration from the DLC's or better loot really worth the danger of plundering the globe. I don't think that the Merchant RP was one of Bethesda's main focuses. Shame, it's usually a favorite amongst players.

It makes your eyes bleed??

Oh no I didn't mean non mod related things, I mean if you have a good mod in mind by all means tell me about it! I do have the store front mod though and things like that! The caravan mod though are always to buggy for me. I hit a rock and the whole thing flips upside down. Well I mean trade routes fixed some of that problem by making certain items such as ores, pelts, and other things more expensive in certain holds than others.

Mod suggestions: Simple Taxes or Taxes of the nine holds - both offer money sinks that give you incentive to continue trading later on when you get more money.

Gameplay suggestion: Choose a trade to focus on. It seems that your character doesnt actually produce any goods and simply buys/ sells for profit. So dont harvest gather or hunt.

Illusion and speechcraft seem to be good choices for your character.

Do you want to be an honest trader who acts as a philanthropist? or a rogue trader who is willing to cheat others out of money and spends money on the finer things?

Skooma addict? alchoholic? greedy with food and eats a lot?
