SirSmokeALot Posted February 16, 2011 Share Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) Hello Everyone, I'm currently trying to give Jericho (from sagittarius Cafe of Broken Dreams) back his old comments while walking around in the wastes.You know like "ohh, I could really use a smoke" an so on.I tried just making new entrys for this in the IdleChatter-Conversationtopic and gave them the the condition GetIsIDJericho == 1....So now everything looks like the IdleChatter from his F3 counterpart but he doesn't say anything while following me.I can't understand why this won't work the conditions are set, they are in his conversationlist under Idlechatter and his FollowPackage allows Idlechatter.I looked at the New Vegas followers and they don't seem to use IdleChatter anymore they just say something when they're at certain locatins but not just when walking around with you. Well, because of legal issues this won't be a mod(at least not with his original Voice), but if anyone happens to know how to make him say stuff while following you I'd be very thankful. rickerhk Posted February 16, 2011 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Make sure the quest that you put the idle chatter in has a higher priority, like 75. Idle chatter does work. I have it working for a companion i'm working on. Though I made a custom voice type. You shouldn't have to do that, though. Not sure why they chose to hack it all out of FNV. The priority of the quest hasn't affected my ability to get IdleChatter working. I have Charon in NV with me and I created his Idle Chatter very much like you did, in the same quest where I set up his wheel and it's at 50, and I used the IdleChatter topic to do it. I tried giving the quest and the topic itself a higher priority still nothing. I also tried adding the Chatter to the "Followers"-quest rather than the one of sagittarius but nothing happend.To answer your question llamaRCA, I have the subtitles turned on, can't see anything though.Its not a problem with the audio-files, the attack sounds work just fine (like when he's in combat he screams Die!Die!f***ing Die! :D ) .So you got any other idea at all that would be great or if anyone could send me a link to an .esp where it actually works(searched the NVNexus couldn't find one by myself) I know helping someone to make a mod that he can't upload is not really the purpose of this forum but I'm at the end of my knowledge here :wallbash: . Oh and does anyone know what the Conditon (GetRandomPercent NONE <= Global FollowerChatterPercentage) does. In F3 its the first line of IdleChatter for Companions(tried with and without it, but still nothing).SSALThat is the percentage of time that they are silent. The first line doesn't have the 'random' box ticked and it has no sound file, so if the GetrandomPercent condition is true, that info always plays, and it plays no sound at all. The only experience I have with the IdleChatter topic itself (in NV) is when I set up Charon back in October when the game first came out and I had zero problems adding it or any other dialogue for him at that time. When you say it isn't a problem with the audio files, are you sure about this because you added the sound files and dialogue topics for the combat chatter as well so you know it's gone in correctly just like the IdleChatter should have? And if that's the case, can you think of anything you've done differently between those two types of dialogue topics that could have caused the IdleChatter to fail? I can't say that I did anything different with the combatchatter then with the IdleChatter. But however since Jericho didn't have a topic for IdleChatter, I had to create a new entry in the IdleChatter-entry and then give it the conditions, but as far as I know thats how its done. I've attached the esp-file now so if one of you has the time and the kindness to take a short look to see what's wrong with it that would really be awesome. The only thing I would think to try is remove the Idlechatter topic from the Generic quest because it's empty anyway and it's conditions apply to a lot of voicetypes. Tried it, sadly it didn't work ether.I guess I will try starting from scratch, see if I can make something different from last time.If that doesn't work I'll try it with a script.
