NachoNinjaGnome
Hello all, I just started another mod, first in quite awhile, and have run into an issue I've not run into before. I've had success in the past with creating custom containers from models of static objects, but, for some reason, when I tried this time around, I have not been able to interact with the containers in game. It's like the GECK doesn't recognize the model as a container and continues to treat it as a static object. Is there some important step that I have completely forgotten? Thanks in advance,- NNG
Fallout2AM
Mmmh if the mesh is not from a container but still a vanilla mesh, you can simply create a new container starting from an existing one and then put the new path for the model (you can either exctact the mesh or use xEdit to edit the path)If the mesh is a custom mesh, then there could be an issue with the nif itself, like a lack of collision or it's a NiNode instead than a BSFadeNode
NachoNinjaGnome
hmm... maybe that's where I went wrong... tried creating a New object rather than editing an existing one... I'll give it a try real quick and get back to you... thx...
NachoNinjaGnome
well, guess I should have tried another model first... all of my other custom containers using static object models work just fine... moved my kitchen counter out of the way and was able to see that there is no collision inherent in the mesh I was testing... guess the dlc03shackcabinent01 was never meant to be touched by anyone... so much for having nice kitchen cabinets in my house... :p anyways, thanks again,- NNG
Fallout2AM
If you want it as container I can take a look at the mesh right now
