OpenWorldAddict
I don't know why no-one has though about this before, nor do I know if it is possible to do. However... why aren't there any cameras in the wasteland? I mean, it's so supposed to be in the future, but using modern day technology, but there is no cameras to use in the 3D Fallout games. So what I am asking for is a handheld camera that the character holds in his hands to take pictures with. It just makes sense for the setting. Now, I don't usually take screenshots, not only because I usually am so immersed by the moment to moment gameplay that I forgot to take pictures of things I find pretty or amazing. The other reason is that pressing a button to take a screenshot is so immersion breaking, because it something that you are doing to get a picture of something in the game, rather than something your character is doing. Having an actual camera that he/she hands in his/her hands; that not only is so much more immersive, but it also encourages the player to stop a moment and take some pictures. Now I don't know how hard it will be to import a model of a early 1900's camera into the game, but if it is possible, it would be so cool.
sullyvanj93
there actually IS a camera.. I would visit Michael Angelo, just past vault 21. Now while that camera really does have limited uses... (just that one quest), I'm sure that a modder could whip something up that uses that camera to take screenshots. It'd be a nifty feature, a reason to use the film after the quest, and PLEASE make the camera a non-quest item. Please.
SKYZOO
I'm just rattling off ideas here, but... You could probably make a unique ID'd camera (using the model of your choice or the vanilla default) and attach a script to it that activates the 'printscreen' button when equipped and used. Then you could have part of that script disable the message that pops up when the printscreen button is used, keeping you immersed in the game without screenshot messages popping up every time. That way in-game you are taking photos while they are saving to your FNV folder IRL. I don't know how easy that would be, if even achievable, but it seems like that would work in theory. A little above my know how for gecking, but I'm pretty sure its doable.
