VinceBly
I'm having an unexpected problem with an unusual house mod. The mod is unusual in that it has an exterior interior. This means that you can see out the windows. To take maximum advantage of this, it's basically a glass house--windows all around. And, to really get the best view, it sits on top of the IC tower! I enabled distant view by creating the _far.nifs and doing a Distant LOD Export (of Tamriel) with the CS. Here's the rub. With my mod only, everything works fine (see attached image 1). However, if any other mod that affects exterior cells (such as another house mod) is also loaded, the distant view of my house--and the tower it sits on--disappears! See, attached image 2. I've found that if I force my mod to be loaded first, by giving it an earlier date stamp, everything is Ok. I'm hoping someone understands what's going on and can suggest a better solution. Zephyyr
Well, I don't have anything constructive to say, but it's an awesome idea. Have you uploaded it to tessource?
VinceBly
Well, I don't have anything constructive to say, but it's an awesome idea. Have you uploaded it to tessource? Zephyyr, Not yet. Although I have a complete working mod, several areas need further work before an initial release. Another unusual aspect of "Top of the World" (TOTW) is that the interior furnishings are a separate mod. So, loading only "TOTW.esp" and its support files provides an unfurnished home. A second file, "TOTWfurn.exp", provides the furniture and clutter. This means someone else could make an alternate set of furnishings for TOTW. Right now, I'm playtesting "Amajor7's Imperial Furniture" mod that lets you furnish a home yourself. Also, TOTW contains a powerful artifact, "The Shrine of Alignment". I have not yet completed the book that describes the origin of the Shrine. Besides answering your question, this is a bump in the hope that someone will understand the far view issue and be able to suggest a more satisfactory fix.
