MasamuneZenith
That red exclamation mark means there's a missing mesh, which can be caused by deleting the folder the mesh was in, or renaming the folders or mesh in any way. Once you set the file path, you can't change it without having to update it in the GECK as well. So my only guess is that once you were done in the GECK, you might have renamed the mesh/folders? Other than that I'm not sure without looking at the esp myself.Ah, right. Remember when I said I'd already made the .esp for the gun beforehand? I was using it prior to giving the .nif it's own folder in meshes. I think I'll remake the .esp from ground up, especially since I'm having bad texture issues on the drum mag. I also personally think using one of the drum mags from the SMGs would be easier as scaling the shotgun mag in Blender is really confusing. It says it can't do non uniform scaling on the shotgun shell that's inside the mag. If you know anything about Blender I'd really appreciate any help you can give as to why my textures keep doing this. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5o6ksfay5pl2u2d/Screenshot%202015-07-12%2003.24.59.png?dl=
SGTbayk47
Unfortunately I don't know anything about what's happening to those textures. I don't even know how to view textures in Blender. Anyway, tell me how remaking the esp goes.

I've run into a different problem, though. On a whim, I tried making a simpler mod than fusing two different weapon parts together and just heavily tweaking the existing LMG model instead. But after doing so I have this issue where my gun model looks like the default, and if I drop the gun it shows my customized LMG model of the weapon simply hanging in midair. I can't iteract with it once it's out of my inventory, it doesn't respond to me pressing the E button. It simply stays there suspended in the air. This happened when I was still working with the automatic rifle also, before I got the big exclamation mark bug. I'm SO CLOSE to getting this down, but I'm still missing something. SGTbayk47
I had that floating weapon problem as well. You need to change some properties of the collision mesh in Blender. I'll link you some images. Blender collision mesh settings: HereBlender export settings: Here I'm assuming you know what the collision mesh looks like in Blender right? But if not, here's another image, just in case. Hopefully this will be the *last* step in getting your weapon to work. :D

Ladies and gentelmen, I'd like to show off my very first successfully modded remodelled weapon! https://www.dropbox.com/s/1im9p7vkr6kt99y/2015-07-12_00002.jpg?dl=0 A sleeker, longer LMG, and I couldn't resist giving this moment a fancy artistic touch by posing in front of the Yangtze Memorial at noon. You can bet that automatic rifle with drum mag will soon be next, as well. Thanks very much to SGTbayk47. Your shared experience made this a much easier task than I could have ever believed. :D Edited July 12, 2015 by MasamuneZenith
SGTbayk47
Glad to see you got it working, and I look forward to seeing what else you create in the future. Happy modding! :D
MasamuneZenith
Alrighty, I've gotten started on my remodeling of the automatic rifle. Unfortunately, I'm having problems with the model getting stuck and becoming impossible to interact with. No idea what's causing the problem, I've triple checked the collision data in Blender and made certain that the .nif in my custom folder is up to date. I've remade the .esp about 6 times now trying to get it right. Is it possible I'm missing something in the Nifskope?
SGTbayk47
Well, unfortunately due to my limited experience with collision, the only thing I'd suggest is that the data is wrong in Blender. I've not heard of nor had to change anything in other software that affects collision. Just really double check that the collision data and the export settings mimic those in the image I linked you, down to every last number. Hopefully the fix is something as simple as missing a small detail when exporting.

It hadn't occurred to me to check the numeric values, too. So now the gun is in the game, and I can interact with it. Now this is happening. No idea what could've caused this as I was careful not to move anything around in Blender or Nifskope. Did I maybe miss a script or something I should have copied from the original automatic rifle to this one?
SGTbayk47
Um... I have never had a weapon do that to me before. Unless someone else knows how to fix it properly, I would just suggest having a go at rotating the whole mesh by 90 degrees until it's fixed. Back up your mesh first of course, because what I'm suggesting hardly seems like a practical way to solve this, but I honestly don't have a better idea :P
