XanderM
Edit: Nevermind... Much easier solution than I imagined. Alright, so I am new to oblivion mods (and oblivion in general) but I managed over the bast few days to get down the basics of using OBMM and BOSS and such. I've installed a few mods, and the game has been working, except that it always crashes upon exit. So I look for a solution and found Fast Exit 2 here on Tesnexus. Instructions on the site say I have to place a .dll file into a folder Oblivion\Data\obse\plugins. Only problem is I don't seem to have a OBSE folder in my data folder. Now this was confusing to me because I thought I had installed OBSE, and that it was required for one of the mods I was running (I'm assuming Better Cities was the reason I installed it but I'm not sure.) Now I'm running the steam version of Oblivion, which doesn't need the OBSE exe file, you just need three dll files in your main oblivion folder. However, when I initially installed OBSE I apparently just unzipped the entire OBSE file into my main oblivion folder... I'm not sure if this could be the cause of the problem or not... All three necessary dll files were always in the folder, so it seems to me it should have worked despite the fact that there were extraneous files lying around. I've since deleted the extra files and nothing has changed. So help me figure out what's wrong here.. How can I definitively prove if OBSE is or is not functioning? And why am I missing this plugins folder? As I'm typing this out I realize the I'm using the "Oblivion XP" mod, which needs OBSE, and it does seem to work. Any thoughts? Because I am confused as hell... MarkInMKUK
The plugin folder for OBSE is not created on install, you have to create it yourself the first time you add a plugin
XanderM
Wow... Duh.. Thanks, sorry for the long ass post for such an obvious solution.
Hayzie
Sometimes FastExit conflicts with certain FPS and Crash Prevention mods. Not always, but for some people. typing "qqq" without quotes in the console helps exit smoothly. Just in-case you have that problem.
