CantThinkOfAName123
I just bought skyrim legendary edition on pc and wanted to play it. The game instantly set all to low for me and I thought it would run really good with these settings. But when I look around, the game starts lagging and slowing down. I've tried the skyrimprefs thing and it had no results. I have a:Windows 8 64 bit Comp4 GB RamIntel® Celeron® CPU N2830 Processor2.16 GHzIt this bad for running skyrim or is this a common problem? Yeldur
Laptop or PC? PC is a lot better than Laptop in most cases, the reason for this is that they have access to much higher video cards and thus better graphics, whereas physical space is limited in laptops, which can lead to to graphical limits. From the specs below, your processor and RAM are very near to the lowest required specs to play Skyrim, and judging from the specs you probably don't have a high end video card either, so yes, it makes sense for your game to be running slow, you should think about upgrading your PC or going to Steam and asking for a refund, for a more detailed check on whether your system can run Skyrim (Because I could always be wrong) I advise using systemrequirements lab, their site checks your specs and compares it to the recommended/minimum requirements and then tells you whether you can run the game or not. Here are the minimum required specs to play Skyrim:CPU: Info CPU Speed: Dual Core 2.0 GHz or equivalent processor RAM: 2 GB OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit) Video Card: DirectX 9.0c compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM - NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT & ATI Radeon X1800. Sound Card: Yes Free Disk Space: 6 GBHere are the recommended specs for Skyrim:CPU: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU CPU Speed: Info RAM: 4 GB OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit) Video Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with 1 GB of RAM (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 or higher; ATI Radeon HD 4890 or higher) Sound Card: Yes Free Disk Space:6 GB Hope this helps, Yeldur. obobski
Agreed - that system is pretty near to the minimums. That Celeron is a mobility part, a dual-core Silvermont. It isn't all that robust. Unless you missed a GPU spec, you're likely using the IGP, which while good at some things, is not going to be a great choice for running Skyrim or similar. achintyagk
Use hialgoboost. You'll get significantly higher frame rates.
