NPC doesn't holster weapon

OK. I created this new NPC in McCarren Base and he is holding the gun in a very weird manner. I want him to holster it but I don't know how to make him holster it properly. Please refer to the pic. The custom NPC is the one on the right, but I guess that's kinda obvious, given the issue.

I am not able to see the image. freeimagehosting.net either doesn't respond, or shows a page with no picture. In the forum, it "should be" easy to attach images. Simply put the image someplace on your disk, such as "My Documents"; then click the button in the forum post window which says "use full editor", then in the attachments section, clock "browse", select your image, and click "attach this file".

 

(EDIT: third try's the charm. Is it the exact same weapon for both NPCs? It looks like the one on the right has the weapon drawn, rather than holstered, and it looks like the weapon is marked as a one handed weapon.)

Tis the same thing. I basically copied off the NPC base and renamed to something else. Both of em use the service rifle. Furthermore, when I shoot the custom NPC, the NPC does the animation as if he is taking the gun from his back (while the actual model does all this weird movements until at the end it gets into his hand in firing position).

Is there a script running that adds items to the NPC when it's loading in the cell?

 

If you hit the console key, click on the NPC, then type:

OpenTeammatecontainer 1

 

Then close it, does the weapon go into normal position?

 

Also, i've seen modded weapons animations cause this in FO3 once in awhile.

I tried that and yes, the weapon goes to the normal position once I close it. How do I get rid of it then? There is no script attached to the NPC and the weapon is already in the inventory at the start.
