Azworai
Okay, so a few months ago I started New Vegas up again with a variety of mods that I was enjoying, but eventually ran into major stability issues which hampered my enjoyment. I've cleansed everything from my PC pertaining to New Vegas and any mods, and am hoping to start downloading and installing mods in the order least likely to cause stability issues, and hopefully predict conflicts and minimize or remove them before I even start, as I am terrible at troubleshooting when so many patches and such come into play. http://postimg.org/image/54okj8vlt/Was the mod list I last saved. Can anyone help walk me through making these plugins/mods perform as smoothly as possible in a step by step? I've attempted looking at several of the resources around, but I found I am truly clueless when it came to applying most of that to this. I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks for reading! Azworai
Am I not providing enough info? I've tried troubleshooting it myself without much luck, and get frequent CTD errors when I try to just run it as is, hence the fresh install...
jazzisparis
Fallout: New Vegas is practically a giant expansion of Fallout 3 -- which was developed by Bethesda. As with any Bethesda game, random crashes and general instability problems are quite common. While I'm not in any way an expert on load orders, yours looks pretty solid to me. Some of the mods you were using were updated during the last few months, so make sure you update what needs updating. Most important, however, are the New Vegas Anti-Crash (NVAC) and 4GB Fallout New Vegas - both should vastly reduce crashes and improve stability. Unless you already do, I highly recommend using both. Thenryb
I am also a fan of using FNVEdit to create a merged patch in addition to what jazzisparis said. I am not load order expert either and you have a lot of mods I no longer use, but nothing about your load order leaps out as a problem.
Azworai
In regards to the above mentioned mods, I briefly looked into them but I believe I had some confusion regarding them, I'll look again. Edit: I believe I found the confusion... do I have to add these manually, or can I use Nexus Mod Manager to install them? As for FNVedit, I know nothing about merged patching, and when I attempted to look at things aside from LOOT, I began to get increasingly unsure how anything worked... I'm the sort that doesn't learn very well from pre-generated assistance aids as I have trouble applying what I read to what I am doing in many cases, so being able to shoot questions as I do it helps... unfortunately, those I have ready contact with are much less into modding than I am.
