iavor55
You see I am a rifle, cowboy kind of guy. I got the Ranger Sequoia, A brush gun, an anti-materiel rifle, a mod shotgun, the Liberator. I also have the Anabele and the unique Minigun. But I have found myself to not use any faster firing weapons due to the low damage per shot, yet I feel not-full without a faster firing weapon and have found myself in need of one many times. I don't want to have too many weapons so I have been thinking of which weapons I don't want such as the unique minigun or which weapons to replace such as the brush gun. But still come to the conclusion that the Brush Gun is better as my cowboy sniper style, but then again I have a freaking Anti-Materiel rifle. So, dear forum! Should I choose the All-American over the brush gun or should I keep it just in case and never use it just like that light machinegun? EDIT: I am also open to energy weapon ideas. WastelandAssassin
well, i used the All American a bit, and it is quite a good weaponif you use it well, it could be really strong and really accurate, which makes it a rather good semi sniper, if you want sneak attacksbut when an enemy comes too close, it can also use automatic fire, so you can spray as you likeso i would say that it is a good solution for both needs also, if i recall correctly, the brush gun is not only loud, but uses .44 rounds, which are much more expansive and rare, compared to the standard 5.56 round the All American uses, which you can find them by the barrel load so i would say that you should at least give the All American a trytake it with you for some time, see if it fits your needs, and if it does, use it more often
iavor55
Actualy the Brush Gun uses the 45-70 Gov't and a switch would be quite good as the Ranger Sequoia does aswell. Alright, I will give it a try.
WastelandAssassin
thanks for correcting me in fact, the 45-70 Gov rounds are even more rare than the .44 magnum rounds, meaning that you should never take these rounds lightly, and so only use them when necessary i loved the Ranger Sequoia, but i never used it in a fight, because i never had many rounds for itbut if you don't use 5.56 rounds for most of the game, you are likely to stockpile plenty of it, so the All American is quite a good choice (after all, if the weapon was so hard to get, it must be quite good)
ita
If you have the Cowboy perk there is no reason to use any other weapons than those that are affected by the perk. The .45-70 ammo has been made less rare with the latest patch so you should sell the All-American to buy more .45-70 rounds.
iavor55
Well I got rid of the all-american. It seems that due to my PC being slow most attacks pretty much try and register as power attacks when mass clicking (I can click rythmiticly, but there is no point if I can't reach its top speed). That's why I did some research and got an assault carabine. Now THAT is a weapon that I like! High ammount of ammo, fast rate of fire, fast reload, perfect for those annoying fast moving enemies and spraying! Still tho, thanks for the help guys! =)
Neariox
Personally i do not like the all american. it works okay on pc but is useless on xbox (just in case you have both). Try the la longue carabine it works great with the cowboy perk, has little recoil, is long range, and does not shake on your screen when you zoon in. Plus it is pretty silent for a rifle and gives a little bit of a sniping challenge (it is not a one shot kill, unless its a headshot or critical hit)
westoftherockies
the marksman rifle is a good weapons, it does a little of everything, plenty powerfull and high rate of fire and it can used as a sniper weapon as well, its pretty unique. i wish FO3 had it. Blewvane
Nothing gets close to me when i'm squatting with my upgraded Hunting rifle, for up close work i use the Riot Shotgun. That automatic grenade launcher found in the cave is also good for a laugh.

That's what I'm talkin' about, automatics, sprayin' peeps down.... go to the White Glove Society, you'll rack up tons of XP and kills, plus the White Gloves are a separate faction, so no Strip infamy!
