hector530
One word: Norway... You earn a lot, but everything costs 3 times as much as everywhere else.. :P makes sense because you said $7000 would give you a pretty good PC. i was thinking for that price you could get a super computer. DrunkenGamer
I've got a ATI Radeon X300 with 2gb of RAM. When I run Fallout, though, it just crashes.I can play Oblivion fine on medium settings. Edited February 20, 2011 by DrunkenGamer

Prophecies
Good point, Zaldiir! Norway is crazy expensive. When I visited, I was surprised at how much a Big Mac burger cost... Anywho! If money is an issue, why not just get a console? You won't have any troubles running the game, AND it's much cheaper.

While we could probably throw a ton of hours into playing vanilla Skyrim, on the PC, with mods, you can just draw a little infinite sign where it says "Hours of play time:"
DrunkenGamer
If I wanted to play video games on consoles all the time, I wouldn't have gotten a Wii.No, I'm mostly a PC gamer. PC Master race, nyah.
Zaldir
I would never suggest getting any TES Games on Console, as that takes away half the fun! :PSo: Work hard, and you will afford a good enough computer for Skyrim (+ Dragon Age 2!) BladeValant546
700 bucks got me a 4gb, Nvidia 8600 with a 1.8ghz quad core and I can run Oblivion all the way up and Crysis on mostly on high with occasional hiccup.
LordWushin
The first thing with upgrading is to spend as little as possible, i.e. buy new graphics card ( or two). It is much cheaper than buying a whole new computer. I make my own desktops, just buy the pieces and put them together myself, much less money, and better parts at times. A nvidia gtx 470 runs around 250 - 400. Plug it in and see how it does. You may have to upgrade other thing like processor or ram sometimes, that is even cheaper than graphics cards ( 20-60 ram). If you want a new computer, don't buy at the store down the street, you get a lot of "extra" stuff you do not want. Go straight to the manufacturer online. My almost three year old Alienware is still kicking everyone in the balls through several upgrades tho.
roninmedia
You just have to wait and pounce on a deal. For $550, I got 4 GB of RAM, quad core 2.5 Ghz, and an ATI 5770. I can run Fallout 3 on 1920x1080 at ultra high settings. Same with Oblivion but that are framerate issues in the cities.
