hurrdurrmurrgurr
Just for shtz and giggles, tell me what your PC's specs are. Well, I've managed to Frankenstein a *Phenom II 955BE 3.2GHz cooled by OCZ Vendetta 2 /Noctua NFP-120mm fan *8GB Patriot DDR3 @ 1066 7.7.7.20 1.5V (1333 9.9.9.24 165V Max)*XFX ATi HD4890 1GB @ 800MHz Core/1100MHz Mem. cooled by Thermalright TRad2 w/ 2x Noctua NFB-92mm*Asus M4A78T-E @3303 BIOS*PC Power&Cooling's Scilencer QuadPCI-e 750W (825W Peak) Single Rail @60A Sadly, Asus is a weak spot for me. It's not able to handle much of a stable OC... I shoulda gone with Gigabyte. :pinch: Sorry for geeking my specs... Regarding performance of the Gambryo games, don't forget to tweak the .ini's for true PC performance! You have to tell Oblivion/Fallout that you have multiple cores on CPU and turn on multi-threading for, like, 8 different things! Not to mention enabling hardware 3D sound. Check the awesome work at TweakGuides :geek: ...for the record, I'll hit 34 in May. The way things are going, I'll be long-dead before I get my hover-car. All you kids don't know how good you have it. Imagine playing NES games, in the snow, uphill both ways, -40 not including windchill, only in shorts!! And that's summer time! (I am Canadian. Our domiciles are snow, eh.) :PWho needs a gigabyte just get two GTX480's run them in Sli and turn on the aircon behind you. You'll enjoy better performance, better drivers and only your arm closest to the tower will get horribly burned.

DrunkenGamer
I've been looking at this Sapphire Vapor-X 5770 1GB card for a while.Does anybody know of it/is it any good? The rest of it I thought of getting some generic stuff, but this is the card I really want. Hm?
roninmedia
I have the Sapphire 5770 1GB card. As far as gaming, it handled Dragon Age, Fallout 3, StarCraft 2, MW2 on maximum settings at 1920x1080. The Vapor-X is supposed to run a little cooler and quieter than my card.
mikeboydus
I've been looking at this Sapphire Vapor-X 5770 1GB card for a while.Does anybody know of it/is it any good? The rest of it I thought of getting some generic stuff, but this is the card I really want. Hm? I have one. Its not bad. Runs Vanilla FO3 and FNV real well. Though the various population mods I have added have dropped the FPS enough that I may need to get a new card. I'll probably get a Sapphire Toxic HD6870, the new model 100314TXSR. Though I may be better off getting another Vapor- X 5770 and running them in crossfire mode.
jfiemmpa
I forgot to mention (especially for anyone with lost of RAM) that the best trick for speed by far is eBoostr chace program. I'd also recommend Superspeed, but the price is not user-friendly. Eboostr takes some finessing with what you want it to do, and when it's done, games get zippy. I just have it grab the most used files off my Games HDD and keep it in a 2 GB RAM cache; makes launching/loading nice'n quick, even with my OS on SSD. :geek:
TotalRookie
I'll never buy a bethesda game on console again....ever. They make their games way too modder friendly to use on the special-ed consoles.
hejpadig
I've been wondering the same thing. I'm not sure if Oblivion is supposed to stutter a lot. I can play Black Ops on the highest graphics, but oblivion still stutters pretty much, it's maybe just the game. And I'm wondering if I should save up for a new computer till November. I don't know a lot of computers, though. So I don't really know what to look after etc. But Black Ops isn't a large game really, anyways, does anyone think that my computer can handle Skyrim on enjoyable graphics if it works the way I mentioned? When I found out what crossfire was, I was just like, "woah,no way".Think it's worth it?
