Moraelin Posted February 19, 2011 Share Posted February 19, 2011 Just as a heads up, though, while the sides must be powers of 2, the game and most modern graphics card don't need them to be equal. E.g., my latest scimitar has a texture size of 512x1024. You may want to look in the game and see if it renders ok, even if NifSkope craps itself. As a side-note, I really wouldn't recommend going above 1024 on any axis. While the space in your mod may be ok, the video card's bandwidth and video memory may be very restricted on the cheap graphics cards. Too many items with ginormous textures can make a graphics card stutter even worse than FONV usually does. Plus, ask yourself if the player can actually see all those pixels. If a texture pixel when rendered on your weapon would be rendered smaller than one pixel on the screen in 1920x1200, then you're including details that people won't actually see.
