Tommy6860
Hey All, I have just a general question regarding the MOP file location. After creating my character starting a new game I would like to know where that file is if I want to edit it, and if it can be edited. I know there is the 'name.chr' file and I can edit that, but I would prefer to do this with the visual ability of like using a morph creator in the toolset. Thandal
Hey Tommy; There is no ".mop" created from using the CC. The "presets", (that's what the .mop files are) are the starting points. The result of your customization in the CC is the ".mor" (for "morph") file. You can use the Toolset to build a NEW .mrh file, then export it as a .mop or a .mor, depending on what you want to do with it. The .mor is stored in your saved game (the ".das" file) and can be extracted using "DA Face Replacer", or one of the other similar utilities. DarkeWolf
Heyas Tommy :)I just want to epand a little bit more on what Thandal already said. He's got the main gyst of it, but I just want to go ahead and point this out. There's three types of files associated with morphs in this game. .mop which is ONLY for presets in the character creator (CC). theres .mor files, which are used for existing characters only. and then there are .mrh files, which are files generated in the toolset, when you create a custom face in there. By itself, a .mrh file will not work in the game. However, from the .mrh file you can create either a .mor file, or a .mop file. As thandal already said, the .mor for your character is stored in the savegame files for that character. There used not to be any way to get to them, til TerraEx released the face changer that he mentioned. You can now use that to extract the .mor file that your character is using. Now, once you've got that file, unless you go thru and compare the names in there to everything that you've got in your addins and/or override folder, you're not going to know what a lot of it is talking about. So what I do, is I make up a new character, with the changes that I want to make to the face, hair, tattoos, whatever, and then play it til I can create a save for it. Then I extract the .mor file with the face replacer and compare the two morphs in the toolset. I copy the info that I changed in the new one, to the old one. And then save the old one with the edits to it after I'm done. Usually to a different folder, so that I still have an original copy of the old morph. Hope this helps, and good luck :)-DW
DarkeWolf
Oh! Or, if its a character that you created in the standalone CC, not the ingame version, you can just choose an existing character, and make the changes to it there in the CC. Then rename the character to something like "JohnDoe01" and play it till you get to a savepoint to create your save file. Then use the replacer to assign the morph from that file, into your original character that you're wanting to change.
