I already have the original FO3 and i have Point Lookout and Broken Steel....i bought GOTY edition for the other 3 addons....do i HAVE to uninstall and reinstall to get the other 3 addons installed or is there another way to install them by themselves? I have a ton of mods installed and i'd rather not have to reinstall them all if i can avoid it.

If I remember, The first disk has the FO3 game, the second has everything else. So you should be able to just install the second disk. Note that a lot of people have had a problem with that second disk not installing due to a bug in the securom protection. I had to reboot into safe mode then run the install on the second disk.

In order to keep all saves & Mods.

Rename the data folder to something like oldata.

Rename the saves folder to oldsaves

Install the second disk. TEST!! the game to make sure it works. Don't copy or rename the backup folders you made yet. - ONLY after everything works - then Make a new backup folder - name it newdata and COPY the contents of the newly installed data folder into it.

Now, copy the contents (Do NOT rename it) back into the data folder. Then Copy the contents from the newdata into the data - Yes, you will have to overwrite some of the files, these will be the ones changed by the new disk.

Run BOSS to set the load order, then do an archive invalidation if needed.

TEST again to be sure it works - ONLY after you are satisfied that everything works, COPY the saves from the oldsaves into the new saves folder and Test again.

If you copied and did not rename or move any of the files from the oldata and newdata, you have both versions as backups.

You should now have a game updated with the DLCs plus all of your old mods and saves. There is still the possibility that a DLC will not get along with one or more of your old mods.

If nothing works - you can still reinstall.

I wasn't sure if the second disk would work as a DLC only disk or not but it installed with no issues whatsoever. I always make backups so that's all good...i started it up and got all 3 of the radio signal messages so i assume all is well. That's a big relief because i had some self-modded mods and i really can't stand starting over with that stuff.
