Thelios
You are welcome! One other thing, in the Fast Exit 2 download there is a folder called src. You do not need those files, those are the source files for modders. You will only need what is in the Data folder from the download. Edit: Make sure you do not have any other "fast exit" type mods running at the same time. I would recommend if you want to use Fast Exit 2, then only use FE2. Nightwolfhunter
the problem is that the game will crash if I play for more than about an hour, and even faster if I am flying on an akatosh mount.
Thelios
Well, Fast Exit 2 will only prevent crashes when exiting the game, not prevent crashes while playing. The best way I have found to remedy crashes while playing, is to at least use OBMM to install mods and BOSS to organize the load order. I also use Wrye Bash for the Bashed Patch feature, but you should be able to stabilize Oblivion somewhat with OBMM and BOSS. One thing to look out for with BOSS. If you have not used it on an existing install of Oblivion and you have manually set the load order, be aware it might not let a particular savegame load after changing the load order with BOSS. The best insurance for this issue, is to back up your load order with OBMM, first, prior to running BOSS. If the changes BOSS makes to your load order cause a save to not load, you can revert back to what you had previously with OBMM. I, unfortunately, learned this the hard way. :) Before I started using BOSS and Wrye Bash, I would have those regular, short interval, crashes. Now that I am using OBMM, BOSS, and Wrye Bash, in-game crashes are few and far between. They still occur on occasion, but only after playing for several hours, ie. multiple quests, travel to multiple cities, etc. Now, having previously stated that the Streamline Fast Exit is not quite as good as Fast Exit 2, Streamline does have some features I use. The cache purge feature alone is worth installing Streamline. The autosave feature in Streamline has bailed me out more than a few times.
Nightwolfhunter
I have all of those things. I use Streamline, OBMM, Wyre Bash, Bashed Patch, etc.
Thelios
Since you are using all those, then there still may be a mod conflict causing the crashing issue. What the conflict is, I have no idea. I would try and see if there are any mods that modify the same things first, then look at mods that add/change any scripts. I have had some issues with scripted mods conflicting with other seemingly unrelated mods. I am just using the SWAG method here, it's just down to seek and find what mod is the culprit. Hope you can get it sorted.
Nightwolfhunter
I am beginning to think my computer jsut doesn't like Oblivion XD. the problem mainly occurs when it tries to do something and load, and save. Say, loading an area when I click an alyid Well while a Streamsave is made will crash.
Thelios
Interesting. I have not had that issue with Streamline. However, if one of my companions is talking and a Streamsave is made, the cache purge that occurs during the save will cut their conversation short, sometimes thankfully. :) Maybe it is a memory issue? I am now using the Oblivion RAM Booster technique, running 4GB system memory, with pretty good results. I had to make the change outlined for the RAM Booster technique to both Oblivion.exe and the obse_loader.exe.

Thelios
I went from 2GB to 4GB and it did make a difference. Not just in Oblivion but across the board.
Nightwolfhunter
cool cool. I plan on upgrading to 8GB in May or June.
