Guest Tessera
My suggestion would be to get yourself a copy of GIMP and also, install the DDS plug-in for GIMP. It works like a charm and you can edit DDS files directly, without having to convert them first.

Guest Tessera
well i dont want to edit them, i want to convert jpg into dds so i can use them for sky textures, birthsign pics, etc. thanks for the help anyway though! GIMP will do that, too. It can convert almost any graphic file format you can imagine. Just use it to open a .dds file, then save that as a .jpg... or vice versa. 8)

Guest Tessera
wow thanks alot you would not believe how much time i spent trying to find a program that would work.. :D :D Aye, with the DDS plug-in, GIMP is a really nice little tool to have around. It took me awhile to warm up to GIMP (some folks here may remember when I first started messing with it -- I was full of questions). Once I got the hang of it, though... well, I'll just say that I've also used PhotoShop and frankly, it doesn't really do anything important that GIMP can't do just as well. On the other hand, PhotoShop has a much, much more intuitive interface and its built-in help system is the best in the business. They're both excellent programs for modders... but... GIMP is free. 8)
