todd92371
Hello all,To start it off.... I have added music to Oblivion before with success. I have some mp3's that I have added to Data\Music\ Appropriate folders (explore-for instance). But, the game will not recognize the new music. I even tried changing the intro songs (all in mp3 format) and it still plays the original song. I have tried deleting all Original music and it still plays the original music in the game???? The music is gone and it still plays? lolI am launching with OBSE. Is the game pulling the original music from the cd? How is it playing music (launch music) that is not there anymore? Thanks,Atticus
David Brasher
Is Oblivion actually installed where you think it is? If you have had Windows Vista / Windows 7 problems and had to move or reinstall Oblivion, your functional game might be in a different place than you think it is and you might have fragments of two different installs on your machine. If you edit the music in the nonfunctional install, then nothing will happen. The way Oblivion works is that it looks at what mods, meshes, textures, sounds, etc. are installed and activated, and uses all this exciting new stuff that it can find. If there is no new material for it to use in a particular category, then it will pull the data from the CD. So if you delete all the vanilla Oblivion music, but do not replace it with new music, then the game will refer to the CD and play the original music. One clue might be to examine how and where you install and activate your mods. If they work when you install them, then this could be a clue on which directories are part of your functional install and which directories are vestigial deadwood. todd92371
Come to think of it David... you are on to something. All of the new mods I try to place in the data directory and initialize with OMOD are still not working in the game?Just recently I got a new computer. I did a backup of my original Oblivion game. Installed Oblivion on the new computer and just copied my existing game over into the new appropriate places. It is working great. But, apparently something has become confused? todd
todd92371
I installed Oblivion on the new computer. I then deleted the contents of the new game folder. Then copied and pasted my backup over into the new folder. Also, did the same with the saved games folder. I am launching with OBSE. (Maybe I need the OBSE shortcut from the other computer?)Well- there is only one installation of the game now on the new computer. But- somehow there is confusion when it starts. Confusion-....lol. On my part.
