weapon spread to simulate recoil is a stupid system in my opinion, the game is far better when you have realistic muzzle climb. it makes the gunfights more interesting and skill based as opposed to your bullets flying off in random direction. I know this is possible because there is a fallout 3 mod for it. I would convert it myself but I have no idea how. I have also in my game been experiencing a glitch that adds muzzle climb to semi auto weapons on occasion but it stops when they are unequipped. if somebody has the ability and the time to bring this feature to FNV please do. What project neveda does is make the crosshairs grow as you shoot.

And since the crosshair indicates your current spread, that also means adding recoil. But it's true that it's not a complete replacement of the spread-based system. The way our recoil works is that it amplifies other player spread penalties. So, for example, when crouching and aiming with ironsight there won't be any recoil. When running with 2 crippled arms while shooting the recoil will be pretty high.

it certainly is a better system than the random non visual spread in the vanilla game, but having actual muzzle climb adds a more exciting feel to combat and adds a bit more challenge to.

by the way project nevada is such a great mod, thank you for putting so much work into it.

And now I see what you mean, real recoil like the gun moves when firing. I didn't get that at first. You're correct then of course, that's not done by PN.

IMO recoil is the only way to do it and having bullets decide not to go where you aim is just stupid no matter the idea behind it in making the game

and scope wobble should never be more then a normal breathing motion and since we arent nightkin who move 12 inches up and down to breath, the scope should NOT be moving like a drunken sailor is holding it.

but reguardless of the scope wobble issue, i see this idea as NEEDING to be a two part mod, the bullet recoil effect and proper realistic muzzle rise combined with proper realistic balistic impacts on targets that have a visible (but not unrealistic) effect without sending enemies rolling backwards like you shot them with a cannon as one mod i saw does.

have any of you ever actually shot a gun?

1. the "Hero" always freehands his shots. that means that the gun is going to "wobble" in a circle because the human body is not a machine that can hold the gun without tiring and will over compensate when the gun begins to go off course.

2.semi auto weapons will experience muzzle climb the same as fully auto weapons when fired fast enough. but it is not noticeable when firing at a pace where a target at 200 yards can be hit with any regularity.

3. have you ever looked through a scope? any movement of the gun seems to be maginfied when focusing through a scope, and there would be a lot of movement freehanding those heavy ___ scoped rifles.

4. the only calibers that would cause a noticeable movement from the impact alone would be from slug and buck shot fired from a shotgun or the extremely large sized rifle rounds like any of the various 50 cals. any other movement seen by a lighter round would be the human body reacting to being shot.

I own four firearms and have years of practical experience with most categories of firearm, dont talk theory with me.

p.s. i dont mean to hurt anybodys feelings, guns are just.... my thing. :nuke:
