Absorb Magicka Spell?

Purgatori

Recommended Posts

My mage runs low very quickly on magicka... I would like to absorb magicka from my enemies - better that I take from them since they cannot use it when they are dead. From who (and where are they) can I purchase such a spell? <Does it even exist?> Thanks.

The spell exists, definitely, and it doesn't look like you could have someone teach you. The spell is called "Absorb Spell Points" and there is a ranged Variant called "Absorb Spell Points [Ranged]" I've looked over the NPCs who have the spell, and it doesn't look like you'll be able to buy it.

I might be wrong, but you could in theory add the spell to yourself with the console command " player->addspell "Absorb Spell Points ([Ranged]) " omit quotations and omit Parentheses if you want the ranged versions. Depending upon your spell points currently, and your skill in the appropriate magicka school, you should have no problems casting it. Mind you, it only absorbs 5-20 points over the duration of 30 seconds costing 150 and 225 points to cast per version. Frankly, the costs might be worth it if you luck out and do max damage, but it's highly unlikely that you'd be able to do so. For the bang for your buck, this spell is highly useless. Just carry around a few Quality Potions of Restore Magicka instead, much more cost effective.

Thanks you so much for the advice. I will definitly follow what you recommend. I thought I could purchase the spell, but you've already looked. I thought it might be under energy leech, but that was for fatigue. :( I will have to create my own restore magicka potions and carry them around, and buy them when the opportunity arises. I suppose resting would be good too, but I don't like how I have to level up everytime I rest. I like maxing out my character's attributes - IE 5X everytime.
