hplrules
I'd like to see a 5 point bonus to Survival (too greedy? make it 3) for cooking items: frying pan, metal pot, pressure cooker, cutting board, knife, spatula, metal fork, and metal spoon. It's too much to assign specific items to specific recipes (i.e., frying pan and spatula to Wasteland Omelet), or is it? I play in hardcore mode, exclusively, for the realism, and think that it would be cool to drag these things out of my shack every time I set down to the campfire outside. Or I would have a good enough reason to keep them on me the whole time, if I want to make regular use of random campsites. In all, the total bonus would be 40 points of Survival bonus (8x5) or 24 (8x3), which is offset be the weight of these things. Optionally, you might have the pots, pans, and board offering 5 points, while the cooking utensils only 3, netting 32 for the set. Doctor Bags already cover the realism for Medicine, so I don't really see a parallel application of this for healing... This would go nicely with a portable "bedroll" too... (but let's not give it a well-rested bonus). You could make it necessary to have the shovel in your inventory (to dig a hollow for your hips) when using the bedroll. It would be cool to sleep in shifts with your companions, and present a greater reason to have a robot or dog on your team! :D Edited February 22, 2011 by hplrules
