Toadfish
Hi there. I have the Khajiit Cat Eyes pack installed and I just can't change the Khajiit eyes in the race menu. The option is greyed out and it's just stuck on default. Any ideas on how to fix this? And I have a few questions about the Skyrim Khajiits. Is there any way I can convert mods I have for the vanilla Khajiits to be useable with the Skyrim ones, and is there any way to get the characters in the game to recognize you as a Khajiit instead of just using a catch-all phrase when they greet you? I have no knowledge of modding but I don't mind spending a while messing around if anyone can give me an idea of where to start. Thanks!
Ferryt
You cannot legally import resources from one Bethesda game to another. That's very specifically stated in the EULA. If you do that and then release your mod on this site it will be taken down by the administrators. There are some Khajiit-related greetings. I've heard several, but they tend to be something like "Greetings, Khajiit" or an NPC will refer to my character as "furlicker". This is all built into the default routines that control "on-the-side" remarks that NPCs make, so if you want to dig into the CS you could probably add more. There are very few actual dialogs in the game that mention a character's race, though. Again, you could modify the specific dialogs of specific NPCs to include this, but it would be a huge undertaking.
fg109
Getting NPCs to recognize you as a Khajiit for greetings and goodbyes should be pretty easy. You'll need to make a new quest with the GREETING and GOODBYE topics. For the responses you can add lines that specifically mentions the npc is speaking to a Khajiit. Make sure that the responses' condition is something like GetIsRace Khajiit == 1 so that the NPC only uses this when they speak to a Khajiit. For the quest priority, I guess it should be something like 50 or so... That would be higher than the generic greetings and stuff (5) but lower than many of the other quests (60) in case using the greetings causes some quests to not be able to be completed. Of course, if you want to actually have voiced lines, you'll have to do recording and lip synching and stuff... And if you want the NPCs to always acknowledge they're speaking to a Khajiit, you'll have to modify every single quest and that really would be a huge undertaking.
