T4NK1980
This is something I thought would be cool for use by melee characters if they had shields made out of pre-war road signs (Stop, Dead End, etc) that would function exactly like the shields from Elder Scrolls. webster63
why not? many of the nightkin wear stop signs (i guess for some kind of armour)
Moraelin
Well, why not is because they basically go over the arm with the PipBoy. The way I managed to make the Roman shields was basically to make a PipBoy that incidentally also includes a shield. It turned out to be a real PITA for the player, as now for example you can also accidentally remove it, which will leave you unable to use any PipBoy functions: you can't even access the inventory list to equip it back. It also doesn't help that there are no shield animations, so it will just hang there on your arm, and not be used to block or anything. You can give it some global DR bonus, but it will basically work more like an amulet of protection than a real shield. Put me off making any more shields, it did. BUT, if you're crazy enough, you can download my shield, open it in NifSkope, delete the shield part (as in, the whole NiTriStrips branch), open some mesh of a manhole cover or tray or sign or whatever in another copy of NifSkope, copy and paste where the shield was, resize, reposition, rotate to your heart's desire, save. Voila, now you have your own PITA shield :P

Not bad, it can make you survival under a nuclear strike.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgdWlWwxmRk
Moraelin
Ah, well, using "shield" as in "energy bubble", sure, that's a lot more viable. The OP was asking about "shield" as in "flat thing on your left arm" though :P
CobaltAvenger
Is it possible to make an inertia shield like the aliens have in Mothership Zeta, as a more lore friendly way instead of the Halo bubble shield?
