Nice facial textures for females in Oblivion?

I'm just wondering how to make Oblivion "beautiful", as in what steps are needed so that the human and standard elf races are actually good-looking and similar to screenshots I see in examples from TESNexus mods. What I see now are that custom races (and companions) generally look good, but the standard races look, well, standard....

 

I've especially noticed this with companion mods for Imperials, such as Clair:

I have turned all textures to high res, and resolution is at max.

I suggest a facial textures mod, which increases resolution for the base textures without touching anything else. You can see a comparison of the best regarded ones, here. I use Maboroshi's Natural Faces, but the others are worth considering.

 

You might also consider trying TNR All Races Revamped, which really redefines and individualizes each NPC in the game. (It works with facial texture mods.) Unfortunately, I can't find a download page for TNR that's active, but this is the mod Wiki page. Arthmoor, I think, was in charge of it for a while, and might have a lead.
