Hunting Revolver Improvement

Hi people, this is my first post, and as happy player, it's a request post!

I don't know a thing about 3D modeling and making mods, etc. So i'm here asking for any soul on earth to do this:

- Some kind of weapon mod, that makes the barrel look havier and a little longer. (I personally didn't like that original barrel, it's thin and makes it look weaker)

OR

- A complete replacement !

Then I've found this gun! :O

Well, reminds me the Lucky but it seems perfect for a replacement (doesn't seem to compromise de classical look).

If i'm not mistaken, this gun also carries 5 bullets. And of course, the replacement texture would not be so shiny like that. (Maybe some multiple texture options)

It's just an option however. Raging Bull .500 could be a good candidate too!

And finally, I'm leaving this idea floating in the air to anyone interested :)

Peace! v

Hmm, yes, it's possible to import it in Blender or Mikshape and enlager only the barrel. I did just that before myself to one gun in ye olde Fallout 3 days.

On the other hand, there are a few oversized revolvers around, so maybe one of them would be right for you? (Disclaimer: I didn't make them, I don't particularly endorse any, etc. Just a quick search.) E,g.

Yes, i've downloaded the P.P.C. I loved that metal texture. I just have to find it now :O

I found a mod with Smith & Wesson guns, and it have the Model .500 but unfortunately had no pictures so I haven't tried.

And I did find these others too and they are certainly HUGE!

In my opinion the Rhino would be better if were not all those texts, and the Trigun revolver, well, seems very loyal to the anime but also freaking heavy (maybe could use it like a hammer when out of ammo... maybe Vash does it!... Don't know, I never watched)

Anyway, i'm looking for something not that huge. A little improvement without get completely out of the game context would be the ideal. Just a little more mixing between "modern weaponry" and the "retro-futuristic" thing upon the hunting revolver, ya know? :)

I absolutely love some of the guns here. I've always been a fan of the revolvers that are "a little too big for life", and I wasn't aware of a couple of the ones posted here. I used the Dan Wesson .357 PPC in FO3 extensively. I've been looking for a nice mod replacement for either .44 Magnum or .45-70 Government. Even if the gun doesn't use those rounds, I could always change it to, myself. Also possibly something to make use of the 12.7mm rounds. Those seem to be quite underused by mods (its basically .50 caliber, in a crude sense).

Only in a VERY crude sense.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.500_S%26W_Magnum

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.50_BMG

I mean, one has a like 1.6 inch long case, the other is 4 inch long case with almost 5.5 inch total length. One packs less than 4000 J or so muzzle energy even with the most powerful ammo, the other over 20,000 J :P

Interesting..

Then the Anti-Materiel Rifle should shoot 12.7mm? That's weird... it uses .50 MG instead of .50 BMG. nah..

Oh, and the minigun should either! The Gau-19 uses 12.7x99 (just imagine that :O !.... hohohohoho! No matter what kind of boss will be. It will be pwnd!)

There could be some heavy machine gun in game too, something like M2 or MG42 :) The only problem is that 12.7 ammo is pretty hard to to get... :(

Well well... but that's already another idea.

The spotlight is concentrated upon de hunting revolver for now. I think I figured out that I did not like. It's the design itself, it's too "solid" that, in my theory, makes mass production easier.

.50 MG is sometimes used for .50 BMG. Really BMG stands for Browning Machine Gun, so some people ommit the Browning. And 12.7x99mm NATO is exactly the same round.

The MG42 used 7.92x57mm ammo, M2 though is exactly right for .50 BMG.
