wolron
I was told by a fellow in the Hlaalu Council building in Balmora to go to Vivec and get a land deed. He said I would need one. I went to Vivec, bought the deed for about 3700 septims. Now what? I have gone back to Balmora and nosed around in the vicinity of the land that I am supposed to own. I have gone back to the Hlaalu Council and tried to find someone that would talk about the land deed. No Luck. My current thought is that I have to finish off the Hlaalu quests and become the big cheese in the House Hlaalu before the land deed is useful. Is that true? Malchik
If you've been told to get a land deed you should have reached the point in the game where a stronghold can be constructed. The way it works for each house is very slightly different and it is a long time since I played Hlaalu. You buy the deed from a guy in Hlaalu treasury IIRC but you also need authority from Duke Vedam Dren in Ebonheart before construction can begin. If you don't have this, it might be why the next dialogue box is not yet available. To get the stronghold constructed - it takes a while - talk to a guy in the Hlaalu Council Manor Balmora. (IIRC his name is Dondos Driler.)

wolron
Ask the duke? No. I guess that is what I am missing. Did someone (in the game) tell me to do that?
LALALA
If you ask duke about stronghold he will ask you something about taking care of his people and something. If you say yes you will have his permisson

Dondos Driler, if that is the right name, would have said what you needed to bring him in order to start construction.
Kenned
I am playing telvanni, and i just got order to fetch 2 strong souls and permission for from mr. dren! i got both and went to talk with what-is-the-name who is building it for me. I tried to save and then rest for many many many hours until my journal said i should go see what-is-the-name. She told me to go check on the construction and gave me directions. But... what is this stronghold..?? are they accutually gonna build a wizard tower for me? With guards and all? Or what? and how long does it take before it is totally finished? (took 4-5 days before the journal told me to go see what-is-the-name again)
wolron
Thanks Kenned, it is comforting to know that I am not the only one having trouble with this. But you have gotten a lot further along than I have. No one has told me to do anything, bring them anything, go anywhere, etc. But, I have this land deed, and from all that I have seen so far, the only hope I have is that I need to gain a higher position in Hlaalu to get to progress further. Malchik
I did say that it takes some time. Someone can probably tell you exactly how long between stages but it goes something like 1. Get the deed and give it to the right bod2. Be told to visit the site and report back3. Be told the first stage is ready and visit the site4. Be given some quest or other and report success to go on to stage 25. Be told when stage two is completed to visit the site6. Be given another quest and report back when succesful to go on to stage 37. Be told when stage three is done. I may have missed something though. wolron
My first problem was that I could not get anyone to admit that I had the deed and needed a construction contract. Finally, I found out that I needed a sponsor. Once I had the sponsor (Curio) I went to the Duke and got the contract. Now I have been told that work will begin in a few days. We shall see. That last post seems to say that dealing with builders in MW is as bad as in New Jersey.
