spooky760
Ok I downloaded the DLC. I tried to run with Mods and it CTD before starting. It loads the little slideshow but then when it fades out and the wheel starts spinning, it goes for like 3-4 minutes and then CTD. I also tried disabling ALL mods except for Fallout.esm and Dead Money.esm. Same issues. Any one having similar problems or would like to offer any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Lansat
i also have this issue, have you tried disabling archive invalidation, for some really odd reason my game will only run properly if i either disable that or remove custom textures. I did not try that yet. I will give it a try and then text back to let you know if it worked for me. Thanks for responding.
spooky760
I TRIED REMOVING IT AND IT DID THE EXACT SAME THING. I GUESS I'M BACK TO SQUARE-ONE.ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?
spooky760
Ok, here is a list of things I tried. 1. Unchecking all MODS2. Unchecking the archiveinvalidation3. Restarting Steam4. Leaving all my gear, armor and stuff inside the storage locker. Everything is the same, slideshow plays out, then goes to the loading screen for a long time before it finally CTD with the message "Fallout New Vegas has stopped working." Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you fix it? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
bben46
Just unchecking a mod does not remove it. The meshes and textures are still installed. To actually remove the mod, you must remove everything that it installed.

I've been reading on the Steam Forum about the same problem happening to others. Any suggestions?
GrindedStone
Start a new game, create a random character. Exit Doc mitchels shack, open the console an type TMM 1 Thus allowing you to fast travel to the DLC marker. Enter the DLC an test to see if it still happends. This will narrow the field. If it doesn't happen you know that it's probably a problem caused from you save game. If it happens just the same it's more than likely limited to the software on your computer, Visual C++, Direct X, .NET framework, audio an video codecs, O/S, an so on. You could try master update with FNV edit as a way to maybe save the old Pre DLC save games. Also Master update would allow you to turn all your mods into "pusdo" .esm meaning that you could then duplicate the exact load order you had Pre-DLC with the DeadMoney.esm loading last. Any save games you have created after installing the DLC are not any good because you have this problem so you need to be using the very last save you made before installing the DLC. You could also open up the DeadMoney.esm with either GECK or FNV edit an see if it says anything funny. The GECK will auto repair some things, but that's only if it gives you a prompt to do so. FNV edit will clean an even mod .esm file types but seems like cleaning a DLC always causes more problems, for example the entire DLC worldspace disapearing. However if there is a problem cause from cleaning the .Esm it's obvious, so the easy fix is to back up a copy then try it out.
