starfis Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 I have a problem with CTD on start up lately. I've checked my load order which has not been changed since I could actually play the game a week ago. I've just updated SMIM alternate start and Leanwolfs Better Shaped Weapons, non of which should be really a problem, rebuild Merged Patch, Bashed patch, PerMa and FNIS in this order. Since I was able to work without any problem with TES5Edit I don't suspect any masters are missing, because they are not. The same thing apply to Wrye Bash, all esps are green and the latest save files are all OK too. This is what is happening. I run the SKSE through Mod Organizer like always, the game starts, the message about available updates to ENB appears, then the join the steam community message and after that the game crashes. Always. What could cause CTD after entering the main menu apart missing masters? I haven't touched my ENB or INI files for couple of months and they are separated from anything steam can do to them, the auto update is disabled.LOOT says nothing about anything that might cause CTD, except couple of warnings about ITMs in ELFX exteriors.esp and ETaC Complete ELFX patch and four more, but I ignored these from the very beginning so I see no reason why it should backfire now. I've activated papyrus logging but for some reason it didn't work, if mod organizer isn't storing logs somewhere else of course. I really don't want to start a new character, because my intend was is to finally finish the game for the first time. :confused: (Modding is a terrible distraction, and I'm addicted) Any help will be gratefully appreciated.
saurusmaximus Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 A couple things to try: try disabling the three mods you updated, on the off chance the updated files got corrupted. Then, if that doesn't work, try disabling your bashed patch and merged patch in case those didn't rebuild correctly. The next thing I can think of after that is verifying your game cache with steam.
