What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to use a preset, or are you trying to create one?

  • Files with a .jslot extension (RaceMenu presets) go in Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CharGen\Presets.
  • Files with .nif/.dds extensions (Sculpt files) go in Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CharGen.
For example:

Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CharGen\Presets\Megan.jslot
Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CharGen\Jessica.nif
Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CharGen\Jessica.dds
Create folders in Windows Explorer: Right-click > New > Folder.

@Heykidyouwantsomecandy43 Go into Skyrim and type "showracemenu" into the console (or start a new game)... in the top right should be a tab called Presets, click on it and then hit f5 to save a preset (it can be anything)... once you have saved a preset it will create CharGen/Presets inside of your Steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/data/SKSE/plugins folder

  • 1 year later...

There is a folder labeled "skse" and a folder labeled "SKSE". They both have the "plugins" folder, however the skse plugins folder will have the "CharGen" folder while the SKSE folder doesn't. Personally, my RaceMenu mod presets follow the path of "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data\skse\plugins\CharGen\Presets"

I heard of some people finding their data in their mod organizer's overwriite folder. I haven't found that folder myself though.

I hope someone got confused like me can find this.

Good Luck!
