It's AEVegas Nasty Grandpa by eomanv.http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38762 I love the gun, but the Nasty Vats Cam version is a little much, and I wanted to tone down the dmg, take away explosive rounds, and rename it for personal use. I was able to edit all the fields to my likings, but when I went to save it to AEVegas.esp it would not let me. This may be a rookie question, and in the wrong place but can someone please tell me how to properly save my changes I made to this weapon through G.E.C.K.? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! WastelandAssassin Posted February 25, 2011 Share Posted February 25, 2011 could you please explain what you did, and what is the problem you get when trying to save?? if it makes you save to a new plugin, you didn't make AEVegas.esp the Active File (when you choose plugins for the GECK to load, there is a button Set as Active File)if that isn't the problem, any explanation on your side could really help us help you Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Onihane Posted February 25, 2011 Author Share Posted February 25, 2011 Ok, I opened the file AEVegas.esp under Data. Nothing else checked just AEVegas.esp. It prompts me that it has not been set to an active file, but lets me continue. Maybe I need to set it as an active file yea? It loads it as a file under the parent directory FalloutNV.esm showing all of the base fallout files + the files of the mod. I click on the Nasty Grandpa Camera Vats under weapons, and select edit. As a test I simply changed the name of it to Hellsing, and tried to save it. I was prompted to save it and tried saving it to AEVegas.esp but it gave me an error saying it was a master file. So I tried saving it as Hellsing.esp and loading it in place of the AEVegas.esp. The gun remained but the name had still not changed in my inventory. WastelandAssassin Posted February 25, 2011 Share Posted February 25, 2011 you need to make the AEVegas.esp active file, otherwise you will have to make a new fileand since AEVegas in an esp file, it cannot be normally considered as a master file, so all the changes done to it by other plugins won't work (like your Hellsing.esp that doesn't work) so first make a backup of the AEVegas esp file, than load it in the GECK, make it the active file, make the changes you want, save the plugin, and see if it works hope this helps :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
