Slight issue with Book of Earache...

Every so often, I run across a girl with the Mo'Gals makeover with floating black squares around her hair. If I get too close, the entire screen goes black. This is a huge problem with the Goodsprings saloon, and the CaliberX shop in the Hi-Roller Suite.

 

I went through the game looking for the people who caused the black screen bug when I used Mo'Gals. These people have black squares floating around their hair, and if you get too close, the screen goes completely black, and requires you to actually close the game to fix it; reloading a save doesn't work. This could be a bug with Lings, but I played around with the load order and reinstalled it, but nothing worked.

 

1. Trudy in Goodsprings

2. The shopkeeper in the Excaliber shop in the Hi-Roller Suite

3. A generic NPC in Freeside, near the Kings hideout

 

There's probably more, and I'll update this post if I find them.

 

Also, I'm running FOOK, and my game is on high detail. I already tried disabling FOOK for this mod, and it didn't help at all. I updated Lings, and it didn't work.

 

I'm thinking that this is an issue with the hairstyle Earache chose, but I don't know if there's another hair pack I need to install or not, or if this is a problem with my game. If you guys want, I can post my load-order.

 

I'd really appreciate any help I can get. I love this mod, and the Mo'Gals plug-in is probably my favorite makeover mod on the Nexus.

i think i may have a road for you to take, that may solve this problem

 

i remember that such a thing once happened to me in FO3, with a specific piece of armor

if i recall correctly, that piece wouldn't load in either the GECK or NifSkope

 

so load the plugin in the GECK, find Trudy in the NPC section, and find out what hair she is using

try opening up that hair in the GECK and in NifSkope, and see if it loads, or if it crashes the program

 

i'll have to check a bit more about ways to fix this, but i thought this was worth mentioning

 

i'll get back to you when i have more info

EDIT: It's not letting me edit the file. It says "Multiple master files", blah blah blah, no matter if I have them checked or not. And yes, I am a noob.

 

EDIT 2: Okay, fixed that, now let's see if the hair loads...

Updating this post because I never did.

 

Okay, I was able to fix some of the problems by changing the hairstyle in G.E.C.K. But I would rather just ask this here; is there ANYTHING, anything at all, that the MoGals.esp requires besides Lings? Any hairpack I'm missing that I just don't have?

 

I am running the game on high detail (along with numerous performance mods), so I know that isn't the issue. I would love any help someone can provide on this, because I just don't have the patience to change the hairstyles of a ton of people every time I run into someone that causes the black screen crash.
