LE Shielded 2-Handed Weapons

Blocking with a 2-Handed weapon, a battleaxe and war hammer specifically raises the weapon horizontally across the players chest. Would it be difficult to add an attachment to the handle that acts as a shield with access to shield specific perks? (im looking at you shield charge).
